The Rev. Gillian R. Barr
Associate Rector for Campus and Parish Ministry
The Rev. Gillian Barr coordinates our ministry to the Clemson University community, which includes our student fellowship group, Canterbury of Clemson, as well as supporting faculty and staff. She also shares in the rest of our parish ministries as needed alongside Mtr. Suz. In addition to young adult ministry she has particular passions for ministries of adult formation and communications.
Before coming to Holy Trinity in June of 2026, Mtr. Gillian was in charge of parishes in Stonington, Connecticut and Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She also was a campus minister at Old Dominion University in Virginia and the University of California San Diego in California. Mtr. Gillian is a native of Annapolis, Maryland and a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia, majoring in history. She received her Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary and her Diploma in Anglican Studies from Virginia Theological Seminary. She was ordained in the Diocese of San Diego. Prior to ordination she worked in public libraries and history museums and as a lay education professional in parishes.
When not at Holy Trinity Mtr. Gillian enjoys getting to know the local area— restaurants, parks, lakes and rivers, and anywhere else you suggest. She loves U.S. history, animals, reading, graphic arts, folk and country music, ACC and FCS football, and stationery. She is supervised by her two cats, Coconut and MoonPie.
